For only the 2nd time in Idaho's state history, a party other than the Democrats and Republicans will be holding a primary in Idaho. The primary election will be held on March 8th, 2016.
The Republican-dominated Idaho legislature passed a bill requiring taxpayers to have to pay for the state's party primaries and that state parties would be required to hold a party primary in order to get their Presidential nominee on the general election ballot in November.
Three Constitution Party candidates have submitted the required paperwork and will appear on the ballot in March. The candidates are: JR Myers, Scott Copeland and Patrick Ockander
